Over 10,000 people gathered in Manchester, England, on Saturday to hear evangelist Franklin Graham preach a message centered on repentance, forgiveness, and salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), which organized the Oct. 3 "God Loves You Tour" event at Co-op Live, reported that 10,400 people attended. The ministry said hundreds responded to Graham's invitation to put their faith in Christ.

“God sent His son, Jesus Christ, from Heaven to this Earth on a rescue mission to save you and me—to save humanity—from sin,” Graham told the crowd, according to BGEA.

During his message, Graham turned to the biblical account of Lot and the destruction of Sodom as he spoke about sin and the need for repentance.

Graham warned those gathered against allowing the surrounding culture to determine what is right and wrong before pointing them to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He told the audience that Christ shed His blood for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.

He then invited those who wanted to put their faith in Christ to come forward.

Hundreds responded to the invitation, according to BGEA. Trained counselors met with those who came forward to pray with them and provide materials intended to help them grow in their faith and connect with local churches.

One of those who responded was Huw Evans, whose wife, Janice, told BGEA she had prayed for her husband's salvation for seven or eight years.

Evans grew up attending a Baptist church but said he had never made a genuine profession of faith. He went forward Saturday and prayed to receive Christ.

“I've carried this burden all my life,” Evans told the ministry afterward, describing a sense of relief following his decision.

The Manchester gathering comes as Britain has experienced signs of renewed interest in Christianity, particularly among younger generations.

Research commissioned by Bible Society and conducted by YouGov found that monthly church attendance in England and Wales rose from 8 percent of adults in 2018 to 12 percent in 2024. The increase was especially noticeable among young adults. Among men ages 18 to 24, monthly attendance reportedly climbed from 4 percent to 21 percent, while attendance among women in the same age group increased from 4 percent to 12 percent. Bible Society described the trend as a “Quiet Revival.”

Saturday's turnout also followed months of preparation among churches throughout northwest England.

BGEA said nearly 600 evangelical churches across the region were involved in preparations for the Manchester event. More than 3,500 people participated in the ministry's Christian Life and Witness Course, which provides training in Christian living, evangelism, and discipleship.

The free event also featured performances from Christian artists Michael W. Smith, Charity Gayle, and British rapper Faith Child.

Graham closed his invitation by again directing those gathered toward the opportunity for a new life through Christ.

“[God] is offering you a new life, a new beginning,” Graham said. “Come while you can.”
