If you're like me and like to stay up-to-date about current events, you know how sad things are looking for the church. There are countless churches that have strayed from Scripture and have become more progressive to be more inclusive. A few days ago, I was shocked to see a video displaying a brother in Christ being threatened both physically and verbally because he decided to show up to several churches that were led by leaders who taught that it was okay to have lifestyles that God told us were an abomination. Just seeing the hate that these so-called pastors and congregations had for this man was unbelievable just because he called out these churches for praising homosexuality and the LGBT lifestyle. I can personally say that this is happening in all of our communities. I once had another mother tell me that God doesn't care if people are trans. What makes it even worse is that this woman considers herself a Christian and attends church religiously. Recently, the Methodist Church split due to differences in opinions over LGBT ideology. The Methodist church now has "drag queen pastors." Don't believe me? Check out the article here. If that's not enough, a church in Texas hosted a "family friendly" drag night. Really? Thank God for the our brothers and sisters who stood up for truth and protested.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, I can't stress how important it is for us to follow the Bible's teachings, for it is the literal Word of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 clearly states, "Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men. nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." If that verse isn't clear, Jesus Himself said, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female" in Matthew 19:4. God and His laws never change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. No man can change what God has established. We cannot pick and choose which parts of the Bible we follow.

One thing that I love about the Bible is that it tells us our past, present and future. Skeptics may claim that it is a work of fiction (I used to be one of them), but can you find any other book that has an accurate track record? We see all of the deception that 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 spoke of happening right before our eyes. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 states, "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths." That time has come. We need to start standing up to these false teachers, for they are leading many of our brothers and sisters astray, and worse, our children.

What can we do? We must be bold like the disciples. Peter and John were bold and unafraid to speak the truth to the Pharisees, professing that Jesus is the Son of God (Acts). Did they fear consequences? Of course not. They were more than happy to fight for the Lord. When we stand up to those preaching falsely, there will be repercussions, for Jesus said that the world hates us but it hated Him first (John 15:18). We will lose friends because of our message, and sometimes our jobs, but we must not stand for things that are evil. If you truly love someone, you tell them the truth, no matter how much it hurts. We as Christians should love everyone which entails telling them the truth. Believe me, it's not easy. I have lost friends since finding Christ and I will probably lose more, but you know what? It is worth it. Let's not watch our brothers and sisters fall into deception. Let us teach them the truth so they do not perish, but have everlasting life, for this life is short, but damnation is eternal. May God give us the strength to be bold in the face of false teachers and teachings and let Him give us the courage to be brave in the face of evil.
