As a Christian mom, it is important for us to teach our children about God from a young age. While our little one is only a year old, she has been exposed to God since she was in the womb. Now that she is here, my job as a mother is to make sure that she learns about God every day. One area that I struggled with as a new Christian was the whole concept of the Holy Trinity. It took a lot of research on my part to fully understand. If it was that difficult for me to grasp, I can only imagine how difficult it can be for a child, especially a young one. I found this amazing book that is targeted towards younger children that explains the Trinity in a way that their little minds can comprehend.

Titled "The Trinity, Little Seminary's Guide to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit," this board book is designed for little ones up to 4 years of age. One thing that I love about this book is its simplicity. Anyone who has been around small children knows that their attention span is short. This book explains the Trinity using short and simple sentences. I believe the sentence structure is an excellent way for the reader to take a pause so that a little one may ask a question if needed.

Another aspect of this book that I like is that while simple, it goes into detail about how the Trinity works together and what each person's role is. The book's use of color is very appealing to the eye. Don't ask me, ask my little one. This is by far her new favorite book. In fact, sometimes, we read this book at least twice a day. My little one picks it up and we read it as many times as she'd like. As soon as I pull this book out, the biggest smile comes across her face. I point to the words as I say them and point out what the images are describing to her. I will say that I'm a proud momma in that my little one says "God" as we're reading. I'd be lying if I said that this doesn't melt my heart. I keep this book upstairs so that we either read it before we get our day started, or save it for bedtime. If you're looking for a book to teach your little one about the Trinity, then I highly recommend this book.
